Like vintage wine, Los Laureles Lodge gets better with time. Rich in legend and history, the Lodge and Restaurant reflect the colorful influence of Spanish conquistadors, tribal Indians, and a flavorful mixture of bandits, cowboys and socialites. Los Laureles Lodge is Carmel Valley's original hotel and hunting lodge. The Pacific Improvement Company acquired the lodge in 1915. During the ownership of the Pacific Improvement Company many visiting dignitaries from other countries, as well as our country, where the guests of the Del Monte Hotel were transported by tallyho coaches when there was little or no sun along the coast.
